Going At Your Own Pace

Sitting at this window, looking out onto the horse race of life

All things blowing past my eyes, looking for their routes of exit, finding their sought after prize

I sit and wonder about how I would have faced up to the competition

That’s it! I can’t take it anymore; I’m finally putting in my petition.

On my way to the BIG MAN in charge

I have to enter this race, but how, when my body is not that large

"Don’t worry about how you’re going to do it", are the words whispered into my ear

No time for fear, no time for tears, now is the time to look out and find out about theirs.

They are living their lives, the images you see when you look at life
Do you want to experience that and feel the pain and strife?

The images you see are real and solid for all to feel

The only thing is when you enter it you will believe that it’s real.

The experience is the ultimate goal utilized for our growing

The opportunity for free choice will express what our spirit is showing

These things are expressed when you enter that picture of life

The winds are raging ready to catch your kite and put it to flight.

All the amazing things I see, but talking to you I don’t know if I want to climb that tree

The experience seems great, but will I remember the reason I chose this fate?

Oh, you will remember, this is a promise I can make to you

The only twist to this is, will you be able see your way through?

I know I will, my grandfather talked about this day since the moment of my arrival

He groomed and taught me all the ways of living in a system that seems so tribal

But I have learned my lessons and now I’m ready to put them to a test

I know that this will bring me into experiencing myself as who I really am, being my very best.

Go at your own pace and always remember to have fun

If you don’t walk through the fire will feel like it weighs a ton

When you are feeling down and life makes you believe you will not make it

Go at your own pace even if you have to fake it.

How you feel about yourself is one of the most important secrets

The middle path, balance are the tools for your present tense
Playing in this deck of cards you are bound to find an ace

Then you will have a remembrance, a situation that puts you on the case

A way to help you remember, that in order to walk at your own pace

You have to put one foot in front of the other

And you will eventually finish your race.
