I greet all beings from the place of oneness of mind, oneness of body and oneness of heart. What you seek outside of you can only be found when you answer the following question, “Who is the seeker?”
I want to thank and humbly send my appreciation to all of the beautiful people who follow and visit this blog. I feel deeply inside and outside the core of my being that we are all on a path of self-discovery that will end in our total illumination. May we all be at peace with ourselves, with our other selves (also known as other people), and all of the natural phenomena that we call our home.
One day as a young woman walked home from her job at the local outreach center there was a stirring in her soul and spirit. She was troubled by some disturbing things that were happening in her life and she needed some relief. She needed a shoulder to cry on and because of her life’s circumstances she didn’t even have safe place to lay her head. This woman had to deal with abuse, mental abuse, physical abuse and emotional abuse. In life when we are going through different things that take the very essence of who we are and drag it through the mud, we sometimes get to a breaking point and we can’t see a way forward. This was the every-day routine for this young woman and today she was at the end of her rope.
Tears streaming down her face and despair at the end and beginning of every thought, this young woman thought to herself, “What is the point of life and why go forward with this terrible existence?” Disturbing ideas began to flood her awareness and before she knew it she was blocks away from her house. She was so much in thought that she walked right past her house and didn’t realize it. Can anyone relate to this situation? When life’s circumstances take over our very existence and we can’t think of anything else except the problems that we are dealing with?
Sitting on the corner one night a homeless person who because of life’s circumstances ended up losing his job, family and all of his possessions, sat looking up at the sky, asking GOD “Why?. “Why must I go through this pain and despair, all of the things I worked my whole life for are gone and I will never get them back. If there is a sign show me something, or give me a good reason why I should not go up to the roof of this building I’m sleeping in front of and jump off, please GOD I need a sign.” Has anyone been here before? Maybe not being homeless but feeling the feelings that he felt?
Walking in a state of aloofness the young woman turned back toward the hell she calls home and dreaded the night that she would have to spend leaving her body mentally; going to a place that only she could go while suffering the abuse that she could not bear. This was her safe place that she escaped to when she could not deal with what was going on in her life. We all know this place; it’s called ME, MY ideas, and MY life. Stumbling over an outstretched leg that she didn’t notice, she tripped and fell to the ground. What was that? she thought, looking up as she got up she noticed a homeless man lying on the ground crying with eyes stretched to the heavens. The pain and hurt in his eyes rocked her out of her place of sorrow and she felt empathy toward this poor soul who looked like he was in so much pain and hurt. “What can I do?” she thought, I’m going through my own hell and I don’t have any time to worry about someone else’s problems. Getting ready to walk on she heard the voice of her long gone grandmother who raised her in the church from when she was a young child. The voice said “Do unto other as you who have them do unto you.” Because of her love and affection that she had for her grandmother she turned around and sat next to the man who didn’t even notice her and just sat there and prayed for this man.
Looking up from his despair the homeless man had a vision. In that vision he saw his life stream by him like a film and an idea popped into his head and it said this, “What if all of this is no coincidence or mistake, what if all the pieces of the puzzle are exactly where they need to be, how you look at the puzzle is how you are going to see the picture.” With that one thought a glimmer of hope aroused in the seat of this man’s soul. As he opened his eyes he looked down in front of him and there was a card from a woman who works at the local outreach program that helped anyone who needed help and on the card was written “I love you and I need you to survive.” With that, tears welled up in his eyes and he thanked GOD that someone gave him a little bit of hope.
How this story ends no one knows, but what we all do know is that people are suffering. With that suffering comes pain, hurt and an internalization of the situations causing self-doubt, self-hate and a feeling of worthlessness. We have all been there and if you haven’t been there you know someone who has. Today let us all become aware of the caring energy of our heart. Look to what you know needs to be done for that person you know is suffering. In life we all have struggles and hardships. It’s only through communion with each other that we get through these struggles and hardships. With a caring awareness be at peace and bring that peace to everything you touch. Namaste.
